Guys, the Beginning of the End of AIDS Begins with YOU!
I can’t believe it’s already World AIDS Day. Can you believe it? I mean I still have turkey on my breath from Thanksgiving!
Well, guys, let me tell you: I know a little somethin’ about HIV/AIDS. I’m from Rwanda where AIDS is pretty bad – although things are really getting better – and Moms oversaw the management of an HIV/AIDS clinical services program in part of the country. Part of Moms’ work was to make sure that pregnant women were tested for HIV and those who tested positive received treatment. Reaching these women was a real big deal for both the US and Rwandan governments.
Guys, you know one of the reasons I think I’m not HIV positive is because a project like Moms’ reached my birth Moms and got her tested and made sure if she was positive she didn’t transmit the virus to me.
I know. I know. I’m a cat! I’m just sayin’…
Also, guys, HIV/AIDS is a real problem overseas as well as in the US, especially in our African-American community. So, I make sure I practice safe sex. My Moms taught me this. I never want to put myself or my Lady Friend into any harm’s way. Okay. Okay. You guys know that Moms doesn’t let me out of the house and that I got neutered back in 2009 a few months after I became Moms’ cat. I’m just sayin’ that if I DID go out at night on the prowl I would know all about safe sex thanks to my Moms.
Okay. Okay. Okay. I know you guys are now saying that I’m neutered so why would I got after Lady cats. Why not male cats? Or other neutered cats? Okay, so, I’m not too clear about my sexual orientation and all how this stuff works.
I just sayin’ that Today is World AIDS Day and the Beginning of the End of AIDS Begins with YOU!
